How to Convert to Sanyayang (Lovy)

⌈ Cakep ⌋     ⌈ Bahasa

For someone who previously did not follow the Sanyayang (Lovy) religion, that person must convert to the Sanyayang religion when they are adults (over 18 years old). If a child under 18 years of age is interested in Sanyayang's teachings and wants to convert to Sanyayang, that child will only be introduced and taught with Sanyayang's teachings. E had to wait until e is 18 years old to officially embrace Sanyayang's teachings. Before being converted to the Sanyayang religion, an assessment will be carried out on the person. Partasih (Sanyayang religious leader) will meet with the prospective Parsayang (Lovish) to ask several questions so that the Partasih is sure that the prospective Parsayang really wants to convert to Sanyayang based on hirs heart's desire without coercion from any party.

The way to convert to Sanyayang officially is by saying the three utterances of lovy acceptance. After the convert said the three utterances, the converter than continue to say the two lovy liberation utterances.

First, the converter say the preamble utterance:

Dalem Hiyaŋ, adan saŋ paŋahasih sang paɲayaŋ.

In God, the name of the merciful and compassionate one.

Then the covert say the three lovy acceptance utterances:

Aku kenali diaku iaŋ nihasih sayaŋ.

Paŋkal dan hujuŋ ku dah Hiyaŋ.

Aku tarima raɲja a Raɲja, parhayang sayaŋ.

I recognize myself who is loved and affectioned.

My beginning and my end is the Hyang (God/Forebear).

I accept the sign of Ranja, the dear prophet.

After that, the converter say the three lovy liberation utterances:

Sambut mari parsayang sadara.

Parsayaŋ dah eŋkau, buaŋ beɲci saada.

Pinter dah eŋkau, buaŋ duŋuʔ saada.

Welcome brother/sister lovish.

So a lovish thou becomest, throw all hatred.

So smart thou becomest, throw all stupidity.

These seven utterances contain deep meaning. By reciting the preamble utterance, the converter starts everything in the context of Hiyang (God/Forebear). Then, the convert recites the three Lovy acceptance utterances to declare e acknowledges herm return to the real herm. Meanwhile, when the converter says the three Lovy liberation utterances, the converter tells what e will gain by converting to Sanyayang (Lovy).

The three lovy acceptance utterances

The sentence "Aku kenal diaku iaŋ nikahasih sayaŋ." is a person's acknowledgment that e has known and returned to hirs true self as a human being, namely to be sanyayang (a person who holds on to affection). The person also declare that e accepts to be loved by Hiyang (the Forebear, the representation of all past, present and future matter and energy that has made herm exist at this time), who is the real creator and by prophet Ranja, as well as by other humans. Hiyang is not imaginary because E really exists, our parents for example, are part of that Hiyang too. This sentence also shows that the person has recognized hermself through natural and/or social sciences (science). E knows where e came from.

The sentence "Paŋkal dan hujuŋ ku dah Hiyaŋ." shows that after a person returns and knows hermself, then e comes to the essential conclusion that it is from Hiyang that e originates (paŋkal) and it is to Herm that e also ends (hujuŋ). E understands that Hiyang is a representation of the universe itself and also anything that may have existed before the universe existed, outside the universe as we know it, or existed after the universe was destroyed. E is aware that e is part of the universe, which means e is part of the One, the origin of all beings and the end of all beings.

The sentence "Aku tarima raɲja a Raɲja, parayang sayaŋ." indicates that a person has received and accepted signs, revelations, and teachings brought by the prophet (parhayaŋ) Ranja. E knows Sang Hiyang through the revelation that was passed down to prophet Ranja and accepts/believes that this is the correct way to understand Sang Hiyang, including to understand what Sang Hiyang wants/expects from mankind which is written in Jeluray.

The three lovy liberation utterance

The utterance “Sambut mari parsayang sadara.” means that the converter welcomes the convert as the new Lovish (Parsayaŋ), and welcomes herm as a sadara (descent from the same girl, literally: same-girl).

The utterance "Parsayaŋ dah eŋkau, buaŋ beɲci saada." means that the converter tells the convert e is now a Parsayaŋ, that is the name of a person who makes love and affection as the guide of hirs life. The converter then tells the convert that e is now must get rid all forms of hatred because e already accept the lovy teaching.

The sentence "Pinter dah eŋkau, buaŋ duŋuʔ saada." means that after receiving the lovy teachings of prophet Ranja, the convert has become intelligent and discarded all the stupidity that e had before. That is, after embracing love and affection, e is encouraged to always learn to educate and teach hermself. Smart is also included in embracing the teachings of Sanyayang itself, meaning that in the teachings of Sanyayang, adherents are allowed to question everything. There are no forbidden questions in Sanyayang's teachings in order to find the path of truth and get rid the stupidity of oneself.

When one has uttered the three panarimaan utterances after the converter recited the preamble, then answered by the three pambibaasan utterances, then one has committed to free oneself from stupidity and hatred which are the source of all evil.

The convert then will be presented with a container filled with flower water to wash his face and given a glass of plain water to drink. After that, the conversion is finished. The convert (someone who just embraced sanyayang) is called a parsarus (literally means the same-stream one).
